Noyce to get mixed up in 'Blood'

Phillip Noyce will direct the police thriller "Mixed Blood," with Samuel L. Jackson to co-star.

A Bigger Boat, GreeneStreet Films and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment are co-financing and producing the project. Jackson's Uppity Films will also produce.

According to Variety, Kelly Masterson ("Before the Devil Knows You're Dead") is adapting Roger Smith's novel of the same name.

The film centers on an American fugitive being forced to make violent and terrifying choices to protect his family while drawing the attention of murderers, kidnappers, corrupt cops and a detective, portrayed by Jackson.

Principal photography is scheduled to start early next year.
