Bryce Dallas Howard indulges her inner writer

Universal and Imagine have picked up “The Originals”, a drama written by Bryce Dallas Howard and writing partner Dane Charbeneau that could serve as a directing vehicle for the actress’ father, Ron Howard. Bryce Dallas Howard and Charbeneau previously collaborated on the short film "Orchids", which Bryce also directed.

“Originals” is an ensemble film about a group of twenty-somethings who reunite for a weekend in New York after learning that the teacher who had a strong influence on their childhoods has fallen into a mysterious coma.

According to The Moving Picture, the idea for “Originals” was born a few years ago, when Howard took to the idea of writing something that tackled the quarter-life crisis issues her contemporaries were dealing with. She and Charbeneau have been working on the script for the past couple of years.

Director Ron Howard is coming off Columbia’s worldwide hit “Angels & Demons” and has not picked his next film.
