Clooney is the 'Gentleman'

Focus Features has announced that George Clooney will star in "A Very Private Gentleman," an adaptation of the Martin Booth novel to be directed by Anton Corbijn.

According to Variety, Rowan Joffe will be writing the screenplay, which shoots in Italy this fall.

Clooney will play an assassin who hides out in an Italian town before carrying out his final assignment. He breaks his code of avoiding human contact, which causes problems for his mission.

Clooney, his Smokehouse partner Grant Heslov and Anne Carrey will be producing.
