Mickey Rourke to pose for 'Mona Lisa'

Mickey Rourke has signed on to star in a remake of the 1980s British gangster film "Mona Lisa."

Rourke will play an ex-con who takes a job as a chauffeur for a high-class call girl. Eva Green is in negotiations to star as the call girl.

Bob Hoskins, Cathy Tyson and Michael Caine starred in the original 1986 film directed by Neil Jordan. Hoskins received a Best Actor nomination for his work in the film.

According to Variety, Larry Clark ("Kids," "Bully") is writing and directing the remake, which is being produced by Handmade Films.

Shooting is set to begin in New York in July.
