Darkstorm Comic’s “I, Frankenstein” is heading to the big screen thanks to Death Ray Films, director Patrick Tatopoulos and "Underworld" co-creator Kevin Grevioux.
"I, Frankenstein" (which is written by Grevioux) features a monster mash with the classic characters Frankenstein's Monster, the Invisible Man, Dracula and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. The story is told in a contemporary film noir style, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The comic sees Frankenstein’s monster as a private investigator, Dracula as a criminal mastermind, and the Invisible Man as a spy.
Grevioux is set to handling the screenplay adaptation with Tatopoulos (who made his directorial debut on "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans") in the director’s chair. Robert Sanchez and Chris Patton have signed on to produce the film through Death Ray. ShockTilYouDrop.com’s Ryan Turek is co-developing the film for Death Ray.
Death Ray is set to independently finance the film through a fund for its slate of upcoming projects – which include the horror/comedy "War Monkeys," and an adaptation of the Dark Horse comic "El Zombo."
