Catherine Keener has joined the expanding cast of Fox 2000 and Christopher Columbus’ "Percy Jackson" – based on the mega-popular Rick Riordan fantasy book series.

Keener will join Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman, Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd and Melina Kanakaredes in the film. Logan Lerman has been hired to handle the role of Percy.
The film’s screenplay adaptation was written by Columbus and Craig Titley, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Columbus, Michael Barnathan and Karen Rosenfelt are set to handle producing chores on the film with Carla Hacken overseeing the project for Fox 2000. "Percy Jackson" is scheduled to film in Vancouver.
The book series follows Poseidon's half-human son, Percy, who is on a question to stop a war among the gods. The story is set in America and brought the classic Greek gods to the modern times.
Keener has signed to play Percy's mother – who tries to protect her son from the bad guys and is kidnapped by Hades.
