DC Comics' villains get a film of their own with "Suicide Squad." Cover Art to Suicide Squad: From the Ashes.Variety reports the film will be co-produced by Lin Pictures’ Stephen Gilchrist with Justin Marks ("20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and "Hack/Slash") hired to pen the screenplay.“Suicide Squad” follows a group of jailed villains working for the government on jobs considered too risky or dangerous for the world’s superheroes. DC Comics first released the series in 1959, and then re-launched it in 1987. The comic features a blend of well-known and unknown villains from the DC Universe.Lin handled producing duties on Warner Bros. upcoming “Sherlock Holmes” with director Guy Ritchie and star Robert Downey Jr. He also served as a producer on “This Side of the Truth,” and as executive producer for “Terminator Salvation.”
