Mickey Rourke's got The Spirit

"The Wrestler" is Mickey Rourke's comeback kid.
At the IFC Independent Spirit Awards, the actor grabbed the Best Male Lead trophy for his work in the film that is the tale of Randy The Ram Robinson, who claws his way out of irrelevancy and obscurity for a late-life comeback.
In a truly Rourke-esque acceptance speech, Mickey dedicated his award to his recently deceased chihuahua, Loki, and noted his brilliant "The Pope of Greenwich Village" costar actor Eric Roberts as the next star deserving of a great comeback vehicle.
"Eric Roberts is the f***ing man and he deserves, like I got... a second chance," Mickey told the audience.
Mickey's speech prompted Alec Baldwin to say, "I want back into the movie business so bad... I gotta get dog, start working out, drop a lotta f-bombs on live TV."
"The Wrestler" also won Best Feature, and Best Cinematography for Maryse Alberti.

Alec Baldwins comments referring to Mickey Rourke were extremely rude and disrespectful. He is clearly envious of Mickey. The fact that he will never come close to the talent and spirit and heart and living legend that Mickey Rourke is clearly showed in his comments. But then Alec Baldwin will always be remembered more for the nasty foul mouth way he speaks to his child than he will ever be remembered for any of his acting skills. He showed no class...My respect and sympathy goes out to you Mickey, for the loss of your precious Loki. Find comfort in knowing that his Spirit will always remain close to you Mickey.Congradulations on your success! I've seen many of your films and you were amazing in all of them!
