'Twilight' fans can audition for 'New Moon', Vancouver casting announced

"Twilight's" sequel, "New Moon" continues the story of Bella Swan and her teen vampire Romeo, Edward Cullen.
"Twilight" told the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, and becomes drawn to Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away.
It has been announced that "New Moon" will set up production in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Vancouver Sun reports you can audition too, if you are a native American Indian.

Candidates will receive scripts and be asked return the same day to read for a part.
Victoria: Feb. 7, Paul's Motor Inn, 1900 Douglas St., 9 a.m. to noon
Vancouver: Feb.8, Second Avenue Studios, 225 W. 2nd Ave., 9 a.m. to noon
Kelowna: Feb. 8, Delta Grand Okanagan, 1310 Water St., 9 a.m. to noon.
The sequel film, "New Moon" will contain parts for both male and female aboriginal actors. Websites io9 and MoviesOnline are both reporting the news about an open casting call for First Nations/aboriginal actors interested in a speaking part in a major Hollywood production.
The posted Craigslist ad the websites cited as their source used language similar to that of "New Moon" casting director Rene Haynes's recent call for "any Native American teens and young adults" interested in roles in the film.
The ad says an unnamed film will be shot in Vancouver starting in mid-March until the end of May, the same period that New Moon is scheduled to be shooting.
There will be many speaking roles for aboriginal actors according to the Vancouver Sun. Bella is sought by a Native American boy, Jacob, who turns out to be a werewolf. Members of Jacob's first nation often turn into werewolves in the presence of vampires, ensuring plenty of supernatural fireworks when the Cullens return.
Fourteen-year-old Dakota Fanning has confirmed that she is in talks to play the role of Jane, a member of the Volturi vampire clan.

Why does it have to be native indians, can it not be anyone that looks native? seems fair, as long as you appear native, i mean taylor lautner, and the guy the plays sam uley isnt native, err its not fair...I can pull of native, i mean i look more natuve than anything but no, they have to have natives
I dont think you need to be native, i think if you look native it's ok, just try out anyways it couldnt hurt rite? btw what nationality r u anyways?
I think ALOT of people will try out, i mean come on its a TWILIGHT saga, people will show up just to see protential actors lol
This seems to be awesome. im a native...and i have read all the books. Also i fit into the age range. hmm...i dont think that they need to be all natives.. but i think that they will prefer natives. cuz well they are talkin about natives right? so as long as you think that you can pull it off.. audition! it couldnt hurt. i might!.. still thinking about it becuz...lets say that i am not as 'brown'. but still. it couldnt hurt!
do you HAVE to be aborigional/native to audition?, can you audition if you look like a native/aborigional?
do you need to wear anything specific to the audition? or bring anything?
Ya I went, and I look native/aboriginal, even they could admit that, but since i didnt have any native or aboriginal blood they told me i could not audititon, which totally sucks! not to mention i traveeled far, but could u imagine i went to BC from ontario and they turned me away for the same, i would be pissed! btw if u look it, and u can act y would it matter, this totally not fair! eerrr
I think that it is great that they are looking for Native Only actors. I know in the auditions in Phx you had to state what tribe you're affiliated to. Many people fit the role of tan, dark hair and eyes. But their is something distinct about native that sets the apart from others and I think that is what they are looking for.
OMG My dad just got a call saying they wanna shoot new moon at his work and he's taking meeeeeeeeeeeee :) Im gonna be famous peoples :)
do you have to be at least 15??? what's wrong with 13 or 14???!!! wat ever, it's not like i would have a chance anyway..... T-T
Where do the non-native americans sign up to be in the movie? I think they should at least post it. I mean I'm not bad or an thing but, still. Give the little guys a chance.

man this is gay i don't fit the age requirment or the darkness but i do have native in my blood and i want to audition but i don't think the'll let me cuz im probably to light to look like a native but i do have it in my blood like it's not fair why does dakotah fanning get to play in it like err she is 14 and she ain't native i am tho but there is probably no piont in me trying cuz of my age and brightness but im native.
ummm i wonder if they can like take me as a little sister cuz im 13 but i am not that dark for a native but it is in my blood and i really badly want to play in it but like i don't think im old enough i just wish they said 13 and up for like little sisters and stuff i mean do you have too look native if you are to get the part?
