‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ grabs 13 Oscar nominations

Oscar night could be a good time for the people behind “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” thanks to the film receiving 13 nominations for the 81st Academy Awards.

The film picked up a wide variety of nominations including - Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Supporting ActressOther Best Picture nominees included Universal’s “Frost/Nixon,” Focus Features’ “Milk,” the Weinstein Co.’s “The Reader,” and Fox Searchlight’s “Slumdog Millionaire.” The nominations were announced today, Thursday, Jan. 22nd, at Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences h.q. in BevHills. The nominations were announced by the Academy’s Sid Ganis and actor Forest Whitaker. The awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 22nd at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. The show will be produced by Laurence Mark, executive produced by Bill Condon, and hosted by Hugh Jackman. It will air live on television on ABC.Oscar nominations include:
