Tobey Maguire producing ‘Good People’

Tobey Maguire’s Maguire Entertainment will produce the screen version of Marcus Sakey’s crime novel “Good People” with Film 360. The Film Department picked up the screen rights to the book and the project could be a star-vehicle for Maguire. Tobey Maguire to produce crime thriller

Ortega / PR PhotosVariety reports the screenplay will be written by Kelly Masterson ("Before the Devil Knows You're Dead") and the plot follows a couple in debt from attempting to have a baby through fertility treatments. They think their prayers have been answered when they discover money in their deceased tenant’s apartment.The Film Department's Mark Gill and Robert Katz are lined up to produce the film with Maguire, Film 360's Eric Kranzler and Ben Forkner. Executive producing chores are handled by Neil Sacker and Michael Goguen.Maguire Entertainment is at work on several projects including the Lawrence Kasdan- penned sci-fi flick "Robotech."
