Baumbach wrote and will direct the film with Scott Rudin producing. The film’s plot is being kept quiet but should be built around the same kind of relationship issues that have been found in other Baumbach films, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film was also set to star Amy Adams, but she has reportedly left the project. Baumbach is said to be in talks with a number of actresses to replace Adams.
Baumbach is shopping the film to several studios (such as Focus) for financing and distribution.
If Stiller signs, the film would mark a change to drama for the actor – who heated up the summer with the comedy “Tropic Thunder” and is currently shooting a sequel to “Night at the Museum.”
