Joby Harold in talks for ‘Altantis Rising’

Joby Harold is in talks with DreamWorks to pen the screenplay for Len Wiseman’s “Atlantis Rising” – based on the comic book created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.
Wiseman is signed to direct the film with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Rosenberg producing. Randy Greenberg is attached to executive produce, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Atlantis Rising” follows the discovery of an underworld civilization and the war that happens between the surface dwellers and the people of Atlantis.
DreamWorks is reportedly planning to have the film be a big-budgeted sci-fi war film similar to James Cameron’s “Aliens.” It is planned to arrive in theaters during the 2011 summer season.
In The Hollywood Reporter, Orci stated: "In all the classic versions of this kind of movie, the threat is always from the stars. The idea that it's somehow our cousins who went off in a different path of evolution who have been here, literally, underneath our oceans. ... That's fascinating, the idea of secrets right under your nose."
