Brad Pitt and James Gray teaming for ‘The Lost City of Z’

Brad Pitt heads into the Amazon for James Gray. © David Gabber / PR PhotosVariety reports Gray ("We Own the Night") will also adapt Grann’s book with Pitt producing through his Plan B company.The nonfiction book is set to be published in April through Doubleday and follows Fawcett – who shrugged Victorian society for the Amazon, and searched the jungle for an advanced civilization he called Z. Fawcett and his son entered the jungle in 1925 to find the Z and were never heard from again.In Variety, Gray stated: "This is a terrific opportunity to do something entirely different for me. It is a story that will be told with an epic scale, with a main character who is larger than life."Gray just finished directing chores on "Two Lovers" with Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow. The film will be released in February through Magnolia Pictures.Pitt returns to the big screen on Christmas day with "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."
