Keanu Reeves is a samurai out for revenge in "47 Ronin." © Insidefoto / PR PhotosVariety reports Chris Morgan (“Wanted”) is tapped to handle writing duties with Scott Stuber producing through his Stuber Prods. Walter Hamada and Chris Fenton have signed to executive produce the film.For “47 Ronin,” Reeves will take on the role of a swordsman in the group – who made a name for themselves with the revenge attack that happened on Dec. 14th, 1702. The film’s story is expected to mix fantasy elements (such as the “Lord of the Rings” films) with epic battle scenes. Morgan is reportedly shaping the script to fit Reeves (who is half-Asian) with plans to start filming next year. A director has yet to be hired for the film. Reeves returns to the big screen on Friday with the Fox sci-fi remake of "The Day the Earth Stood Still."
