Benderspink picks up ‘The Straw Men’

Benderspink has picked up the screen rights to the Michael Marshall Smith crime thriller novel "The Straw Men" and the rights to the comic adaptation by Zenescope Comics’ Joe Brusha. Cover art to Michael Marshall Smith's crime thriller The Straw Men.

Cover art to Michael Marshall Smith's crime thriller The Straw Men.Variety reports the book is the first in a trilogy and follows a retired detective trying to find the answer to a series of murders. The detective discovers the murders are part of an even larger conspiracy.The film adaptation will be produced by Chris Bender and JC Spink with Zenescope's Brusha and Ralph Tedesco set to executive produce.Smith's novel "Spares" is being adapted into a film with Vertigo producing, and his short story "One of Us" is in development for the screen at Warner Bros.
