Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz teams with Broken Lizard for comedy

Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz has teamed with the comedy team Broken Lizard for the upcoming comedy “Freeloaders.”

Counting Crows singer Adam Duritz to produce new comedy with Broken Lizard. Adam Duritz - Opening Night for Elton John's New Play Lestat - Palace Theater - New York, NY © Janet Mayer / PhotorazziVariety reports the film was written by Dan Rosen and Gigolo Aunts lead singer Dave Gibbs. Rosen is also scheduled to direct the film with Duritz signed on to produce. It is set to start filming in mid-Janurary.The film’s plot follows five guys and a girl living in luxury in a rock star’s mansion. Their easy life is put in danger when the rocker decides to sell the home.The Broken Lizard comedy team includes Erik Stolhanske, Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, Kevin Heffernan, Jay Chandrasekhar and producers Richard Perello and Julia Dray. The group (who brought "Beerfest" and "Club Dread" to the screen) has a deal with Warner Bros., but is set to independently finance "Freeloaders."
