Brad Pitt and Warner Bros. take ‘The Odyssey’ into outer space

Following his turn as Achilles for Wolfgang Petersen’s "Troy," Brad Pitt is looking to bring the Homer’s other epic, “The Odyssey,” to the screen through Warner Bros. Brad Pitt takes a classic into space with new Warner Bros. film.

Brad Pitt takes a classic into space with new Warner Bros. film. Brad Pitt - 65th Annual Venice Film Festival - "Burn After Reading" - Premiere - Palazzo del Casino - Venice, Italy © Josie Kern / PR PhotosVariety reports Pitt has teamed with the studio and director George Miller to adapt the poem into a futuristic epic set in outer space.Warner Bros. is set to produce the film with Pitt’s Plan B, and has hopes of getting the actor to star in the epic along with getting Miller to direct. Pitt is set to return to the screen in David Fincher’s "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." He also has a role in Terrence Malick’s "Tree of Life." Pitt just started shooting the World War II flick "Inglorious Bastards" with director Quentin Tarantino.Although the project reportedly has been shelved, Miller is still attached to handle directing chores on Warner Bros. long-in-development “Justice League” movie.
