Anthony Hemingway to direct George Lucas’ ‘Red Tails’

Anthony Hemingway has signed on to direct the World War II action flick “Red Tails” – based on a story by George Lucas.Variety reports Lucas will executive produce and finance the film through his Lucasfilm production company and signed John Ridley to write the script. Rick McCallum and Charles Floyd Johnson are tapped to produce the movie with production scheduled to start in March. Shooting will take place in Italy, Prague and Croatia."Red Tails" will follow the young pilots known as the Tuskegee Airmen – who had to overcome racism in the military to become the first African-American fighter pilots in U.S. military history. Hemingway has handled directing chores on several television series including "CSI: NY," "Heroes" and "The Wire."
