Kate Hudson Vs Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars

Sorry dudes, this isn't some A-list catfight to the death. Bride Wars is the latest romantic comedy from Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway, joining forces to make the ultimate chick flick. They play best friends who schedule their weddings on the same day. Hilarity ensues, but Hudson emphasized the film's heart.

"What I'm most interested in the movie and how it turned out is how emotionally it’s got really a nice message," said Hudson. "It’s about friendship and why those relationships are important in people’s lives and holding on to them and how they get us through everything. So on top of that it’s very funny. Annie and I had the best time with it."

Perhaps another duel is about to form, because Hathaway has not yet seen the final cut, and she's jealous. "She owes me, that blonde," Hathaway joked.

Hathaway filmed "Bride Wars" after the intense indie drama "Rachel Getting Married," in which she played a recovering drug addict. The "Bride Wars" material was lighter, though the Hollywood production schedule was not.

"Honestly, it was tough to get back to the 19-hour shooting days because, on ['Rachel Getting Married,' if we worked 10 hours everyone was like, 'Oh, my God.  It's so hard.'  We were so spoiled in terms of how well we were taken care of and 'Bride Wars' was a pretty rigorous shooting shooting schedule. I was still coming out of Jonathan Demme world so I felt I had a really light touch with the character and I felt really good playing her.  It's impossible not  to have fun with Kate Hudson.  She's like a ray of sunshine."
