Steven Soderbergh working on Liberace film and wants Michael Douglas

Steven Soderbergh - Ocean's Twelve Los Angeles Premiere - Arrivals - Grauman's Chinese Theatre - Hollywood, CA, USA © Lee Roth / RothStock / PR PhotosVariety reports Soderbergh is set to direct the film with Richard LaGravanese penning the script and Jerry Weintraub producing.The director is reportedly in talks with Matt Damon for the role of Scott Thorson. In 1982, Thorson sued Liberace (who died in 1987 of complications from AIDS) for $113 million in palimony, and claimed he was the Liberace’s companion for five years. If the film happens, it will be a while until Soderbergh could start shooting. He is set to direct "The Girlfriend Experience" for 2929 Entertainment. The film is part of a six-picture deal Soderbergh signed to direct low-budget films. The films are released simultaneously in theatrical, on cable and DVD.
