Jennifer Connelly - Glamour Magazine Honors the 2007 "Women of the Year Awards" - Arrivals - Avery Fisher Hall - New York City, NY, USA © Janet Mayer / PR PhotosVariety reports the two actors (who are married) will handle the roles of Charles and Emma Darwin for the film – which is described as a blended genre with elements of a ghost story, a thriller, and a love story.The film’s plot follows a young Charles Darwin who is trying to deal with the pain of losing a child.The script was written by John Colley ("Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World"), and is based on the book "Annie's Box" by Randal Keynes (Darwin's great-great-grandson).It is produced by Jeremy Thomas through his Recorded Picture Co., and was co-developed with BBC Films. It has received public funding from the U.K. Film Council. Icon Film Distribution has picked up the U.K. and Australian theatrical rights. HanWay Films will handle the worldwide sales.The film will also star Jeremy Northam ("The Tudors"), Toby Jones ("Frost/Nixon") and Benedict Cumberbatch ("Atonement"). Shooting starts on Sept. 28th with locations that include Darwins' home, Down House. It is scheduled to be released in 2009 and is timed to arrive in theaters with the bicentenary of Darwin's birth.
