Columbia Pictures has picked up the spec script “Bad Teacher” from “The Office" co-executive producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. Variety reports the film follows a seventh grade teacher with a foul mouth and who is a bit of a gold digger. She gets dumped by her boyfriend and starts an attraction with a colleague. This puts her at odds with the school’s model teacher.
The film is being produced by Jimmy Miller, and puts the two writers back with Sony – where they worked on “Year One” with Harold Ramis.
Miller handled producing duties on "Step Brothers" for Columbia and "What Happens in Vegas" for Fox. He was an executive producer on Warner Bros.’ "Get Smart" and Universal’s “Land of the Lost” with Will Ferrell.
