Sony Pictures Classics has picked up the distribution rights to Christophe Barratier’s French film “Paris 36.”
Variety reports Sony will distribute the film in the U.S., Australasia and Scandinavia. The film is produced by Jacques Perrin, Nicolas Mauvernay, and co-produced by Romain Le Grand for Pathe Intl.
It is set to arrive at Toronto on Sept. 6th and in France on Sept. 24th. A U.S. release date has yet to be announced.
The plot follows three out-of-work dance hall stagehands who come up with the idea to perform their own show at their old place of employment. It features “The Chorus” actors Gerard Jugnot and Kad Merad. It was shot by Tom Stern – who has worked as d.p. on a number of Clint Eastwood films.
