The remakes continue – duo signed to pen new version of ‘Poltergeist’

It looks like the Hollywood remake mill is going to keep chucking out less than great updates on classic horror films.
MGM announced it has tapped the Stiles White and Juliet Snowden ("Boogeyman") for a new spin on "Poltergeist."
Variety reports the studio is currently looking for a director for the remake.
The classic horror flick was released in 1982 and with a script by Steven Spielberg, Michael Grais and Mark Victor. It was directed by horror icon Tobe Hooper and starred JoBeth Williams and Craig T. Nelson.
The film turned into a franchise with two sequels - released in 1986 and 1988.
White and Snowden are also the writing team working on Universal’s remake of “The Birds.” The duo also co-wrote "Knowing" for Summit. They just finished script duties on "A Good and Happy Child" for Paramount Vantage.
