The Coen brothers have cast a duo for their next film, "A Serious Man," but the two actors aren’t a couple of “A-list” celebrities.

Variety reports the Coens have tapped Tony-nominated actor Michael Stuhlbarg and Richard Kind (best known for his work on ABC's "Spin City") as brothers in the black comedy period piece.
The film is set in 1967 and follows Larry Gopnik (Stuhlbarg). He is a Midwestern professor who has to deal with a mid-life crisis when his wife decides to leave him and his brother (Kind) won’t move out of the house.
“A Serious Man” is scheduled to go before the cameras next month in Minneapolis with Working Title producing. Focus Features is lined up to distribute the film.
Joel and Ethan Coen’s “Burn After Reading” (with George Clooney and Brad Pitt) is arriving in theaters in September.
The duo wrote the screenplay for "A Serious Man" and will be handling producing duties on the film with Working Title's Tim Bevan. Eric Fellner will be executive producing.
Stuhlbarg has appeared on television’s "Law & Order" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." He received a Tony nomination for his role in "The Pillowman." He also had the title role this summer in Shakespeare in the Park production of "Hamlet."
Kind had roles in "For Your Consideration," "The Station Agent" and "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind." In addition to “Spin City,” he appeared in the television series "Mad About You."
