In a bit of strange casting, Mike Myers has signed to play British Gen. Ed Fenech in Quentin Tarantino’s World War II flick "Inglorious Bastards."

Variety reports Myers will handle the role of the military mastermind who helps develop a plan to kill Nazi leaders. The film will be headlined by Brad Pitt and will feature director Eli Roth in a supporting role.
Tarantino is in talks with Simon Pegg, Nastassja Kinski, and David Krumholtz for roles in the film which is being released through Weinstein Co. and Universal.
"Inglorious Bastards" is set to start shooting on Oct. 13th in Germany. The film will feature much of its dialogue in French or German with subtitles used. Since Pitt is playing a soldier from Tennessee, he will speak English. His character puts a team together consisting of eight Jewish-American soldiers who battle the Nazis.
It is being produced by Lawrence Bender with Erica Steinberg and Harvey and Bob Weinstein working as executive producers. Pilar Savone is handling associate producing duties.
