Variety reports the film stars Colin Farrell, Edward Norton, Jon Voight and Noah Emmerich. The drama follows police corruption in a family of New York cops.
“Pride and Glory” was ready to hit theaters in March, but the film was put on the back burner by New Line – which caused O’Connor and several members of the cast to voice fears the film would not be released.
O’Connor blamed the film’s delay on New Line’s Bob Shaye – who left the company when WB folded New Line into the studio. With the downsizing of New Line, "Pride and Glory" was put into development hell along with several other New Line films.
O’Connor is at work on “Warrior” for Lionsgate. The film was originally supposed to be handled by New Line, but the director moved the project following his disagreement over the way “Pride and Glory” was handled.
Lionsgate picked up the “Warrior” script – which is described as a mixed-martial-arts story about two brothers who have to fight in a heavyweight championship tournament.
O’Connor penned “Warrior” with A.M. Tambakis and Cliff Dorfman. He is lined up to produce the film with his brother Greg O’Connor.
