Variety reports Rhodes wrote the screenplay and will handle directing duties. The film is a loose adaptation of Dante's "Inferno," and is the first financed film by IndieVest Pictures – which was launched in 2007 by Wade Bradley, Mark Burton and Matt Wall. It is also the first film from Olive Prods – which was formed this year by Buscemi, Stanley Tucci and Wren Arthur.
In the film, Buscemi handles the role of an ex-gambler who's being trained by a maverick insurance fraud investigator (Malco). Shooting is taking place in Albuquerque, N.M., and Las Vegas.
The film is produced by Burton and Wall with Circle of Confusion's Lawrence Mattis and Kelly McCormick. Buscemi, Tucci, Arthur and Spike Lee are handling the executive producing chores.
