“Hostel” director Eli Roth has signed to star as a Nazi hunter in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming World War II film "Inglorious Bastards" – which is set to start production this fall in Europe.

Variety reports the film will be released through the Weinstein Co. and Universal Pictures. Roth (who had a role in Tarantino's "Death Proof" segment of "Grindhouse") has signed to play the baseball bat swinging Sgt. Donnie Donowitz.
Brad Pitt is reportedly in talks for the role of Aldo Raine - the leader of a rogue band of Jewish-American soldiers who fight the Nazi in occupied France.
Leonardo DiCaprio was rumored to be up for the role of SS Col. Hans Landa, but Tarantino has said the part should be performed by a German actor.
