Columbia Pictures gets Walt Becker for ‘Stealing Time’

Columbia Pictures has hired Walt Becker to handle directing duties on the upcoming action flick "Stealing Time." Variety reports the film will be produced by Bob Cooper's Landscape Entertainment and Charles Segars' Sparkler Entertainment. It was developed by Cooper and Segars. The duo worked out the film’s story with Columbia’s Doug Belgrad. Colin Trevorrow has been hired to write the script for the film.The film’s plot follows three generations of men who attempt to unlock the secrets of a device known as the Antikythera Mechanism. The device is believed to be the way to make time travel a reality. Becker is currently directing and producing MGM’s “The Zookeeper.” He is also working as a producer on Fox Searchlight’s “No Relation” and MGM’s “Still You.”
