Jack Black in 2003's "School of Rock"Variety reports “School of Rock” writer Mike White will also return to pen the sequel - titled "School of Rock 2: America Rocks." The original film (which cost $30 million to make) was a box office smash for the studio and earned $131 million worldwide.The movie reportedly kicks off with Finn leading a group of summer school students on a cross-country field trip to explore the history of rock 'n' roll including the roots of blues, rap, country and other music genres.Black dropped out of the Todd Phillips directed comedy "Man-Witch," and is set to return to the screen this summer in Ben Stiller's "Tropic Thunder," opening Aug. 15. He also has a role in the Judd Apatow-produced comedy "Year One," which hits the big screen next June.
