Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard to perform live at The Dark Knight premiere

Two of the world’s most renowned composers, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, will be performing together live for the first time, on stage at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square IMAX Theater prior to the world premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Dark Knight on Monday, July 14, at 7pm.

These two men (who have won many awards) teamed for the second time to create the score for The Dark Knight – which will feature Batman’s return to the big screen in the follow-up to Batman Begins. The two scored Batman Begins in 2005.

In addition to the performance, Zimmer and Howard will be signing copies of the soundtrack at Virgin Megastores in New York on Tuesday, July 15, in Times Square at 7pm, and in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 16, at Hollywood and Highland, also at 7pm.

The soundtrack for The Dark Knight will be released on Warner Bros. Records on
July 15 prior to the film’s nationwide opening on July 18.

Warner Bros. Records will release four different versions of the soundtrack for The Dark Knight. The releases include:A standard jewel case CD
A 2 LP set of heavy-weight 180 gram vinyl version
A special edition digipack
A collector’s edition with special artwork to come after release.

Nolan directed the film from a screenplay written by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. Charles Roven, Emma Thomas and Christopher Nolan are the producers, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull serving as executive producers. The Dark Knight is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane. The Dark Knight will be distributed worldwide in theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. The film has been rated PG-13 for “intense sequences of violence and some menace.”

I went to the LA instore yesterday, it was amazing. This score is incredible. The album artwork is really great as well. I got my copy off darkknightscore.com, its so worth it!

I have the new The Dark Night Soundtrack!

It’s really effing good.

It has 50 minutes of unreleased music from the movie and 4 unreleased released remixes by The Crystal Method, Paul Van Dyk, as well as a 40 page book of stills from the motion picture. You have to get this if you are a real fan!!! I promise you will love it.

The Dark Knight Soundtrack is great!

The new package contains 50 additional minutes of unreleased music from the movie, and 4 unreleased released remixes by The Crystal Method, Paul Van Dyk, and others, as well as a 40 page book of stills from the motion picture! A limited quantity are being made!

Honestly, not too big on soundtracks but when you hear Hans Zimmer plus the Dark Knight how could you not wanna listen
