The unassuming Car Phone warehouse salesman from Port Talbot, Wales appeared an unlikely winner of "Britain's Got Talent." Then he opened his mouth and sang one of the most compelling classic pieces of opera, Puccini's "Turandot," the aria, Nessun Dorma.
Sitting as judge (and executive producer) for the TV show was Simon Cowell, who is finally producing a film based on the life of Paul Potts.
Paramount is taking the chance on the film project, titled ''One Chance" with Cowell about Potts' life.
Cowell is also developing a feature film, "Star Struck," another story of stardom made possible via reality TV.
Michael Menchel and Steve Whitney of Relevant Entertainment will produce along with Cowell, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The studio has recruited Justin Zackham to script "One Chance."
Zackham's credits include "The Bucket List."
