Universal Pictures has tapped David Auburn to write the script for “The Archive” with James Mangold attached to direct. The film is described as a time traveling thriller.
Variety reports the film is from a pitch by Auburn and will be produced by Scott Stuber and Cathy Konrad.
The pitch came to the studio through Stuber Prods. Konrad is set to produce the film through Tree Line Film. She worked with Mangold on his western remake “3:10 to Yuma” and his Johnny Cash bio film “Walk the Line.”
Auburn adapted his own play “Proof” for the screen in 2001 and also wrote the screenplay for “The Lake House” for Warner Bros.
