Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel take on the Apocalypse

Seth Rogen - 2008 ShoWest - Final Night Banquet And Awards Ceremony - Paris Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas, NV USA © PRN / PR PhotosVariety reports the film is from a comedy short by Rogen and Evan Goldberg - which was based on a story by Goldberg and Jason Stone. The big screen version of the story will be written and produced by Rogen and Goldberg.The film follows two guys dealing with the end of the world, and the film rights were pursued by several production companies after a trailer for the short popped up on YouTube last summer.Mandate’s Nathan Kahane is executive producing with Stone and Baruchel. The company is looking to shoot the film in 2009.Baruchel will return to the screen this summer in the Ben Stiller film Tropic Thunder, and just finished work on She's Out of My League for DreamWorks. Rogen is planning to keep audiences laughing with the release of Pineapple Express (which he wrote with Goldberg). He is also working on a screenplay for a remake of The Green Hornet for Sony.
