Ben Stiller and Reese Witherspoon get romantic for Cameron Crowe

Ben Stiller - The Heartbreak Kid Los Angeles Premiere - Mann Village Theater - Westwood, CA © David Gabber / PR Photos Variety reports Columbia beat out four other studios for the Crowe film - which is being produced by Scott Rudin and Crowe (who also wrote the screenplay). The studio is keeping details of the project quiet.The film will be a reunion for Crowe and Columbia. It is the first film he has made with Columbia since 2000’s "Almost Famous." The director has a history with studio head Amy Pascal going back to his 1989 film "Say Anything." The director’s biggest box office success, "Jerry Maguire," was with Columbia and Pascal.The romantic comedy is set to start shooting in January. The film will mark the first time Rudin and Crow have worked together. Stiller is set to return to the big screen this summer with the comedy "Tropic Thunder" - which he also co-wrote, produced and directed. He is at work shooting "Night at the Museum 2: Escape From the Smithsonian."Witherspoon will return to the big screen with Vince Vaughn in the upcoming "Four Christmases." She is also providing the voice for one of the characters in DreamWorks Animation's "Monsters vs. Aliens."
