Leonardo DiCaprio to star in ‘Atari’

Leonardo DiCaprio - Blood Diamond Premiere and Photocall in Rome - Warner Village Moderno Cinema - Rome, Italy © Insidefoto / Photorazzi Variety reports the film was written by Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman, and is a biopic following the life of Atari creator and videogame industry icon Nolan Bushnell. DiCaprio is attached to produce the film through his Appian Way.Bushnell founded Atari in 1972 with Ted Dabney. The two men help bring arcade games, home videogame consoles and home computers to the world. They created Pong and the Atari 2600.Hecker and Sherman convinced Bushnell they could bring his story to the screen correctly and beat out others for the creator’s life rights.
