Los Angeles - Actor Johnny Depp won two prizes at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday night, but comedians Seth Rogen and James Franco generated the biggest buzz by lighting up what they said was a fake joint as they presented an award for summer movies.

The pot-smoking pair star in an upcoming movie called Pineapple Express about two marijuana aficionados, hence the stunt.
'We don't even smoke weed,' they joked, claiming that the herb- filled bag and big joint they lit up were 'fake weed,' even as the pungent smell of burning marijuana filled the auditorium.
Their lines had been written and approved in advance by MTV, but they didn't go down too well with Robert Downey Jr, a former drug addict, who was the next star up on stage to collect an award for his role in the hit film Iron Man.
'Thanks fellas for that intoxicating introduction,' he said sourly.
The smoke was also a grim reminder of the fire that had devastated part of the Universal Studios lot just hours before the ceremony took place in an auditorium on another part of the giant property.
Depp also didn't seem too amused about the night. He won two golden popcorn prizes for best comedic performance for his third stint as Captain Jack Sparrow, and best villain for Sweeney Todd. But he lost the best film prize to CGI spectacular Transformers.
'I'm not a very funny person. I'm not even remotely funny,' he said in a somewhat dour acceptance speech.
Will Smith won the best male performance award for his role as a post-apocalyptic survivor in I Am Legend, while Ellen Page won the best female performance price. Zac Efron (Hairspray) was honoured with the best Breakthrough Performance prize.
Other highlights of the show included a reprise by comedians Mike Myers and Dana Carvey of their hit Wayne's World characters from the 1990's, while Adam Sandler won the lifetime achievement honour, singing a re-worked version of the James Bond theme Nobody Does It Better.
