John Cusack - The Times BFI London Film Festival - 'Grace Is Gone' - Movie Premiere - Arrivals - Odeon West End - London, England © Solarpix / PR Photos Variety reports Chiwetel Ejiofor (“Redbelt”) is in talks for a role in the epic film which will chronicle the end of human civilization as predicted by the Mayan calendar. The film’s screenplay was written by Emmerich and Harald Kloser. The project was picked up by Sony in February with shooting planned for July in Los Angeles. Mark Gordon, Kloser and Larry Franco are serving as producers on the film with Emmerich executive producing.The film kicks off with a global cataclysm which triggers the end of the world. It then follows the struggle of the few survivors that remain. Cusack is set to return to the big screen with the satire “War, Inc.” – which he also wrote and produced. He is currently filming “Shanghai” for the Weinstein Co.
