George Clooney stars in 'Men Who Stare at Goats'

George Clooney is set to star in his Smoke House partner Grant Heslov’s Men Who Stare at Goats. George Clooney -

George Clooney - "Leatherheads" Rome Premiere - Arrivals - Warner Cinema Moderno - Rome, Italy © Insidefoto / PR Photos Variety reports Heslov is lined up to direct the film based on British journalist Jon Ronson's book about the U.S. Army's First Earth Battalion – which was to use paranormal powers on the battlefield. The film’s title refers to the belief a person can kill a goat just by staring at it.The film’s script was written by Brit Peter Straughan (How to Lose Friends and Alienate People) and the it topped the 2007 Brit List of best unproduced screenplays.Men Who Stare at Goats has been passed around for some time, but the script just made its way to international buyers this week as the Cannes festival. Winchester, BBC Films and Mandate Pictures are expected to have a hand in financing and producing the project.
