Paramount picks up Martin/Keaton film

Paramount Pictures has picked up the Steve Martin comedy pitch "From Zero to Sixty" - which will see the actor reteam with his "Father of the Bride" co-star Diane Keaton. Steve Martin -

Moore / PR PhotosVariety reports Robert Simonds (who pitched the film to Paramount last week) is set to produce the film. Martin and Keaton will play a married couple in the comedy.Paramount could have the film in production by the fall if a writer is hired quickly for the project.Simonds has worked with Martin on the Pink Panther series. The Harald Zwart-directed sequel "Pink Panther 2" is scheduled to be released in February and a third film is already shopping for writers.Keaton recently starred in the Callie Khouri-directed "Mad Money" – which is now out on DVD.
