Wouldn't James McAvoy make a great Mr. Rochester?

Kristine Rochester :)Nov 7th, 2008 - 08:06:54

I am incredibly excited--Ellen Page is the only Jane who could pass for 18-19 (Ruth Wilson, although excellent as Jane, looked around 23-25)
What's killing me is not knowing who Mr. Rochester will be. But please not James McAvoy. IMO, Tumnus does not equal Rochester. I don't doubt his fantastic acting ability, but James can never embody strength, sardonicity, and pride the way Edward is portrayed as having in the novel.

P.S. Jerryjeff, you really want James McAvoy for Rochester, don't you? I keep seeing the same exact comment all over websites about this movie.

I think Daniel Craig would be great as Rochester. Both he and Page have an inherent grittiness to their performances and would be interesting together.
