Michel Shane and Anthony Romano ("I Robot," "Catch Me if You Can") are at work developing Lifeboat 13.
The film is based on the WWII story of the four chaplains who gave their lives following the 1943 sinking of the Dorchester.
Variety reports the two have picked up the rights to the screenplay by Michael Justiz and Steven Sikes – which was based on a story by Justiz, Sikes and David Fox.
The screenplay was inspired by the tale of a rabbi, a Catholic priest and two Protestant ministers, as well as an African-American Coast Guardsman, who gave their life jackets to others as the Dorchester sunk off the Greenland coast in 36-degree waters. The shipped was attacked and torpedoed by a U-boat.
