Ridley Scott and Casey Affleck to team up for The Kind One

Warner Bros. has signed Ridley Scott to direct and produce The Kind One – a period noir film starring Casey Affleck.
Variety reports Tom Epperson is set to adapt his novel for the film with Scott and Jules Daly producing for Scott Free. Ideaology's Sean Bailey (who worked with Affleck on Gone Baby Gone) is also producing.
The film is set in 1930s Los Angeles, and follows an amnesiac who finds himself working for a mobster. The mobster is a known killer dubbed "the Kind One" and the amnesiac’s life is further complicated when he falls in love with the thug's girlfriend.
In Variety, Daly stated: "It's a world that Ridley has never touched before, so that's what drew him to the project.”
Daly worked with Affleck on The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
Scott is currently at work on Body of Lies with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. The film is set to hit the big screen this fall and will be released through Warner Bros.
