Get ready for X-Files: I Want to Believe

It’s official. X-Files creator Chris Carter has confirmed that the long awaited X-Files sequel will be titled The X-Files: I Want to Believe.

The Associated Press ran a story officially releasing the name for the highly anticipated sequel to 1998’s X-Files big screen debut. Carter, who is directing the sequel and co-wrote the screenplay with Frank Spotnitz, has stated the title reflects some of the themes of the movie and what the characters go through during the story.Carter said: “It's a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. ‘I Want to Believe.' It really does suggest Mulder's struggle with his faith."The film will see David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return to their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.Although the title has finally been announced, the plot details are still being kept secret – which is fitting given the television series history. The plot is said to involve some form of supernatural thriller (possibly werewolves??) and will take the two main characters in new directions.
