Fox Atomic snags Carrey and Reitman for Pierre Pierre

Fox Atomic has signed Jim Carrey to star in and Jason Reitman to direct the studio’s upcoming comedy Pierre Pierre.
Variety reports Fox Atomic picked up the rights to Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton's spec for $1 million, and Escape Artists and Reitman's banner Hard C are lined up to produce the film. The project caused a bidding war with Universal, Mandate and Atomic.
The politically incorrect comedy plot follows a self-indulgent French nihilist as he takes a stolen painting from Paris to London. The film has an estimated budget of $13 million.
