Variety reports the Terminator film will go head to head with Twentieth Century Fox’s Night at the Museum II: Escape From the Smithsonian – which had already announced May 22nd as the release date for the Ben Stiller sequel.
Warner Bros. is set to distribute the film in North America through its deal with Halcyon Co. – who owns the franchise rights to the Terminator series.
The new film in the Terminator franchise is set to start shooting in New Mexico on May 5th with production scheduled for two months. The plot is being kept secret, but is reportedly part of a three-picture arc that takes place following Skynet’s destruction of much of humanity in a nuclear war.
