Ellen Page signs on for ‘Hell’

Ellen Page has signed on to star in Drag Me to Hell - director Sam Raimi’s return to the horror genre. EPA/PHIL MCCARTENVariety reports Universal Pictures has picked up the domestic and some international rights for the film and shooting is set to start on March 17th in Los Angeles. Universal’s chairman Marc Shmuger and co-chairman David Linde inked the deal with Ghost House Pictures partners Raimi and Rob Tapert. The studio is also set to distribute the film in Germany, Spain, and Latin America. Mandate Intl. has signed on for other overseas territories.The movie’s plot is described as a morality tale about a person receiving a supernatural curse and was written by Raimi and his brother Ivan. It will be produced by Tapert with Grant Curtis and Josh Donen. It is being executive produced by Mandate's Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake.
