Michelle Pfeiffer in talks for Cheri

Michelle Pfeiffer is in talks to star in Cheri – an adaptation of the 1920s novel by French author Colette. Miramax and Pathe are working out a deal to team on the film which focuses on the aftermath of a romance between a middle-aged woman and a wealthy younger man. Michelle Pfeiffer - 'Stardust' London Movie Premiere - Arrivals - Odeon Leicester Square - London, England © Solarpix / PR PhotosVariety reports the film will be a reuniting of the people behind Dangerous Liaisons with Christopher Hampton providing the script and Stephen Frears set to direct the film. The project is being produced by Bill Kenwright and Reliant Pictures’ Thom MountMiramax is working on a deal to control the North American rights for $7.5 million commitment and Pathe will handle overseas territories. The agreement is similar to what the two companies worked out for Frears’ The Queen.
